A simple and delicious power smoothie. Raspberries are only in season during the midsummer months – so remember to stock up and freeze bags of them for later use. Raspberries are often forgotten and trumped by other berries like strawberries and blueberries. But don’t underestimate this powerful berry! It is a small berry but jam packed with vitamins, copper and iron.
Kale adds a bit of crunch in the smoothie. It is a great addition in Winter as it helps ease lung congestion and benefits the overall immune system.
Bananas pretty much go in all my smoothies. They add the delicious creamy texture and sweetness. Bananas are also a great fruit to eat in the morning as they contain a lot of fibre which helps keep your stomach in check. Bananas also contain tryptophan, which is an amino acid that the body converts into serotonin. Serotonin helps you feel happier and more relaxed – perfect way to start your day, don’t you think?!?
Being back in Denmark this Winter I’m taking full advantage of our local and super creamy honey. Adding a little honey is great for your immune system and acts as a little booster.
Super easy, all you need is;
a big handful of frozen raspberries ♦️ half a chopped banana ♦️ a spoonful of honey
a small handful of chopped kale ♦️ 1-2 spoonfuls of yogurt
Mix in your blender and voila! A full glass of pink deliciousness!
